REALTOR® Specialties

What are those strange acronyms after your REALTORS®’ name on their business card? GRI, ABR, e-PRO…These letters signify that a REALTOR® has taken advantage of advanced educational opportunities and training in real estate specialties, available only to REALTORS®.

Most property transactions are complex procedures, requiring the knowledge and expertise of a real estate professional. There may come a time when you need the assistance of a REALTOR® who is specially trained in a particular aspect of the business, such as buyer representation, residential real estate, or the Internet.

Through membership in the National Association of REALTORS® affiliated institutes, societies, and councils, REALTORS® devote themselves to continuous study of the most recent trends in their respective fields. The affiliates award specialty designations that recognize a member’s advanced education and experiences in a particular discipline. Courses offered through the affiliates keep members abreast of developments in their specialized fields and better able to address industry issues.

Accredited Buyer's Representative / ABR®
	Designees have completed a course focusing on all aspects of buyer representation and provided documentation of buyer agency experience.

Accredited Buyer's Representative Manager / ABRM^sm
	Designees have taken and passed both the ABR® and ABRM^SM course and provided documentation of past management experience.

Accredited Land Consultant / ALC^sm
	ALC's are the recognized experts in land brokerage transactions of five specialized types including farms and ranches.

Certified Commercial Investment Member / CCIM^sm
	CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management valuation and investment analysis.

Certified International Property Specialist / CIPS®

	The CRE is a member of an international group of recognized professionals who provide seasoned, objective advice on property and land-related matters.

General Accredited Appraiser, GAA^sm
	The GAA designation is awarded to appraisers whose education and experience exceed state appraisal certification requirements

NAR's Green Designation / GREEN
