Join the Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS®
Welcome to the Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS®! We are excited about your interest in our association and in joining the growing REALTOR® community.
Membership in the REALTOR® organization begins at a local board/association of REALTORS®. Joining the Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS® automatically extends membership to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and New Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NJAR®). A REALTOR® may be a licensed Real Estate Salesperson (or Agent), Broker or Appraiser. REALTORS® belonging to the Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS® must be licensed by the State of New Jersey.
Below you will find the necessary membership forms and information you will need to get the application process underway.
Steps to Becoming a Member
1. Select your membership type and complete the appropriate application.
2. Send EBCBOR the following:
- The appropriate membership fees and dues. Click here for Prorated Dues Schedule.
- Completed application form(s).
- A copy of your Salesperson or Appraiser's license (not applicable to Affiliate applicants).
3. Attend an EBCBOR New Member Orientation class and complete the online New Member Code of Ethics Training of the National Association of REALTORS® (not applicable to Affiliate applicants).
- REALTOR® applicants must attend a New Member Orientation within 60 days after submitting an application. The 3.5 hour New Member Orientation is offered on a monthly basis. To see when the next orientation is offered and/or to register, visit the EBCBOR Events Calendar and select 'Display New Member Orientations' from the drop down menu above the left side of the calendar.
- REALTOR® applicants must complete the New Member Code of Ethics Training of the National Association of REALTORS® within 60 after submitting an application. Please visit the Code of Ethics Training web site here for additional information.

Types of Membership
Individuals that are sole proprietors, partners, corporate officers, or branch office managers and are engaged actively in the real estate profession and maintain or are associated with an established real estate office in New Jersey or a nearby state are eligible to become REALTOR® members. Every individual who is a partner in a partnership, or an officer in a corporation, or a trustee of a trust who is actively engaged in the real estate profession within the state or a contiguous state contiguous qualifies for REALTOR® Membership only. REALTOR® Membership in an Association of REALTORS® within the state or a adjoining state is required for these individuals.
Each firm (or office in the case of firms with multiple office locations) needs to identify one REALTOR® member that will be responsible for all duties and obligations of Membership including the obligation to arbitrate and the payment of association dues. The "Designated REALTOR®" must be a sole proprietor, partner, corporate officer, or branch office manager acting on behalf of the firm's principal(s) and must meet all other qualifications for REALTOR® Membership.
Designated REALTORS® must complete and submit both the REALTOR® Membership Application and the New Office Information Form:
A licensee may join any REALTOR® Association they choose without their broker being a member at that association as a "Secondary Member". NOTE: The exception to this is if the licensee wants MLS access; then their DR would also need to join EBCBOR.
Secondary members are REALTORS® whose primary membership is held with a local REALTOR® association other than EBCBOR. For these members, NAR and NJAR membership dues are paid through their primary association and all that is paid to EBCBOR are EBCBOR membership dues and MLS fees (if applicable). In addition, if their primary association is in a different state, they will also pay NJAR dues to EBCBOR.
Affiliate members are individuals that operate in a business that touches on the real estate industry. While not REALTORS®, they engage with the real estate profession on a regular basis.
