(Cliffside Park, N.J.)- The Eastern Bergen County Board of REALTORS® (EBCBOR) Global Business Council hosted a special lunch presentation focusing on the topic of ‘Going Global’ this past Friday. The event took place at the newly constructed One Park Condominiums in Cliffside Park, N.J.

The three panelists, Alireza Memar, of RE/MAX Select Properties, Larissa Ortiz, NAR 2018 CIPS Advisory Board Chair, and Benjamin Watson, Vice President of Marketing of DMG Investments LLC led an informative presentation and discussion on the current global trends and changes in the current market on a domestic and international level.

Mr. Memar and Ms. Ortiz focused on foreign buyers investing in the United States and the impact REALTORS® have in these transactions. Based on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Profile of International Transactions in U.S. Residential Real estate, in 2018, 23% of REALTOR® respondents reported working with international clients, 33% of REALTOR® respondents reported an increase in the percentage of international client transactions to their business from one year ago, and 62% reported that personal contacts, previous clients, and business contacts were the major sources of clients/referrals.

“We, as an organization are so thrilled to be able to put together a unique event with a magnificent well versed panel of speakers to inform and educate our members on not only current global market trends, but also to be able to preview new constructions and developments happening right in our back yard that are being designed to cater to the diverse population in Bergen County. I am happy to have been able to partner with One Park, and truly value and appreciate the new dynamic their new construction will bring to the northern part of New Jersey” Said Penelope Gomes, 2018 EBCBOR Global Council Chair.
